HEAD OF SCHOOL MUSING

I recently heard this story. A friend of mine was elk hunting in a rural part of northern Colorado. On his way home he stopped at a store and struck up a conversation with the cashier. My friend mentioned the Vail Valley is his home. The cashier shared that her physician is a Vail Christian High School graduate and proceeded to ‘gush’ about his exceptional care and kindness.

The VCHS vision statement ends with these words – graduates make the world a better place through their personal and professional lives. This alumnus is doing just that.

During the Christmas season, we celebrate our 598 alumni – home from college, living here in our beautiful valley, and spread out around the world. As we say, Once a Saint, Always a Saint – Family Forever!

We are hosting the 2^nd Annual VCHS Alumni Christmas Party this Saturday from 4:00-6:00 at Ed'z in Edwards and expect a full house like last year. We can’t wait to see everyone together. Get tickets here.

COLLEGE COUNSELOR'S NEWS

"I just returned from a week-long college tour in North Carolina. I was invited to attend a 'counselor fly in' at High Point University.

Mr. O’Neil and VCHS supported me adding three more days of visiting colleges to prioritize an area that many of our students have shown interest in.

Getting exposure to the campuses and communities of universities around the country is super important in my role, as I instantly can see which of our students would fit where.

I toured Duke, UNC Chapel Hill, Elon, Wake Forest, High Point and Davidson. I met five VP’s of Enrollment, I connected with the President of High Point University, and had the special opportunity to visit with Blake Barron (VCHS Class of 2022 and my first application cycle). Blake is thriving in his undergraduate studies at Davidson College and starting to work on applying to medical schools next year."
