Chapel Band Shoutout
I love Coldplay. In 2005, I remember hearing their music for the first time when I was with my brother in London. So when I heard Fix You by our Chapel Band, I got chills (not COVID but real goosebumps).
Lights will guide you home
And ignite your bones
And I will try to fix you
Watch their video – our Saints ‘crushed’ it! Shout out to Seniors Reece Kohrmann – drums, Jacob Novak – camera, and Jaden Webster – piano thing; Juniors Gracie Allen – keyboards, Connor Downey – bass, Chloe Hornbostel – vocals, and John Wolniak – guitar; Sophomores Christian Dent – guitar, Ava Garrison – violin, Stefan Labenski – production, Jillian Lee – vocals, Taylor Shull – production, and Aria Webster – lead vocals.
Their teachers JD Webster and Tyler Jager are master musicians and teach their students music production from A to Z – a signature VCHS experience that I’ve seldom seen elsewhere with students this age. More importantly, both men bring their Christian faith into everything they do. Few schools have talent like JD and Mr. Jager, and few schools can produce the high-caliber music our Chapel Band creates. When we say ‘Go Saints’ we say it both for our athletes and for our artists!
Go Saints!

Happy Chinese New Year! We are grateful for our VCHS students with Chinese heritage.
Starting this Friday, February 12th (Chinese Lunar New Year Day) and lasting until January 31st, 2021 is the Year of the Ox, meaning that people born this year are notably sensitive and are active, hardworking, and popular among friends.
Students, please stop by the Commons next Wednesday to celebrate with a little treat. Also, Chelsea from Rustic Farm to Fork, will be offering a variety of Chinese lunch specials next week. Be sure to look for these when you place your order online by 8 am or in person by 10 am.

Summer is an excellent time to explore your interests, work, shadow professionals, and/or attend summer programs. Remember work is a great way to grow your responsibility and learn a new skill. Internships, summer programs, and job shadows allow you to learn more about careers and majors that are interesting. This 12-Second Trick Trains Your Brain to Be More Positive
|
|
Having a positive mental attitude is essential to physical and emotional health. Positivity helps us deal with (and bounce back from) setbacks more easily. Unfortunately, being upbeat can feel as daunting as climbing Everest. The good news is it only takes 12 seconds to shift gears from mumbling, “yuck,” to shouting, “yay!” from the top of a mountain (Everest or otherwise). Here’s how to trick your brain into being more positive—and why it works. Click here to read more.
