Greetings! Enjoy our Saints News!
HEAD OF SCHOOL MUSINGS
Having lived abroad for 3 years with my family, I’m always excited to see our students connect with the global stage – especially to apply globally what they’re learning locally. Last semester, Mr. Mysnyk’s Personal Financial Management class was able to do just that.

His students worked with Global Business TeleSquad, a multi-week opportunity for them to connect their learning in the VCHS classroom to a completely different cultural and geographic context. He divided his class into two groups (consultants) and paired them with entrepreneurs in Panama (clients). Each group offered business consultation with their clients and ultimately provided them with deliverables that could be used to help them run their business more efficiently. Seniors Sean Boselli and Luke Olmsted had this to say – “This project opened our eyes to a new culture and gave us the opportunity to help others.”
Mr. Mysnyk’s students learned how to communicate in a business environment, apply budgeting and inventory techniques, and understand and overcome the difficulties of starting a business. According to Mr. Mysnyk, “The most impressive thing was how this project allowed each student to pursue his or her own interests. Some students used their creative talents to create new marketing tools for their clients while others used analytical thinking skills to help create inventory sheets or cash flow statements. Regardless of their TeleSquad roles, every student learned the value of teamwork and communication through this unique learning opportunity.”
