Greetings! Enjoy our Saints News!
HEAD OF SCHOOL MUSINGS
They’ve been highlighted here before but deserve another shout out. Meadow Mountain’s Jack Dunlevie and Summers Baker (VCHS Alumni Class of ‘11) made it to Red Rocks!

My son Benj and I were not only excited to be at an outdoor concert – at Red Rocks, nonetheless – but to see Meadow Mountain live on stage opening for Leftover Salmon.

I was first introduced to Meadow Mountain’s music in 2018 at a Kickstarter in Kristin and Dave Baker’s living room. Denae and I had front row seats! A little over a year later, the O’Neil family saw them again at 10 Mile Music Hall in Frisco as they opened for Infamous Stringdusters. And then last weekend happened – Meadow Mountain Live at Red Rocks. Do you see the same trajectory I do?

And in many ways it started right here at Vail Christian – Jack and Summers jamming during lunch and ‘free’ periods with Mr. Beaudine. But an invitation to Red Rocks doesn’t just happen. Jack and Summers and their other three band members have sacrificed and worked incredibly hard to refine their crafts and get to the place where they are today. This summer they will release their 2nd album, and I’m convinced we’ll soon see Meadow Mountain moving from opening act to major headliner.

Hard work pays off! And that should serve as inspiration and an example for today’s Saints. Bravo Jack and Summers!

SERVICE MATTERS
Limited spaces are available!
Students Shoulder to Shoulder is a locally-based non-profit that gives students the opportunity to learn about ethical leadership from inspiring nonprofit leaders. Students discover the complexity of global challenges while immersed in the communities they serve, working with children and focused on the environment.

SStS has a bold purpose – to grow a global network of ethical leaders. This summer, SStS is offering 9 global, domestic, and Colorado based trips. There is also a Colorado trip based in Boulder in which students will work with Thorne Nature Experience connecting environmental stewardship and a youth camp program. VCHS students can apply for this opportunity and join other SStS member school students.
