Greetings! Enjoy our Saints News!
HEAD OF SCHOOL MUSINGS
join_the_club.jpg
Get involved. Step outside your comfort zone. Learn something different. Make new friends. This is what you’ll hear us say to encourage our Saints to get involved with at least one club.

Of what could be clubs, some are offered through courses such as Digital Storytelling, Robotics, and Yearbook. For the rest, they oftentimes meet during FLEX period before or after lunch on Tuesdays and Thursdays or after school hours.

We also encourage students to form new clubs based on their interests. Getting a new club off the ground is fairly simple – find a faculty/staff member willing to serve as its advisor and seek permission from Ms. Larson. Over the last few years, we’ve had clubs not currently listed such as Bowling, Global Issues Network, Latin, Spikeball, and Unicycle (in fact, we still have the unicycles in storage for anyone who wants to resurrect that club).

Encourage your Saint to consider starting a club we don’t currently offer. Otherwise, the clubs below share their meeting times and locations through morning announcements. Feel free to reach out to the club advisor for more information.

Warm Regards,
Steve O'Neil

Meet our instructor! Meredith Kirkman, born and raised in Vail, is honored to be a part of the positive Saints energy at VCHS. She pursued theatre, dance and filmmaking in college where she received a BFA in Musical Theatre with a dance concentration at Chicago College of Performing Arts. Following graduation, she directed and produced a feature film called “The Promise of the Butterfly” that made its World Premiere at the Vail Film Festival Summer 2019. Her directing and choreography credits include: The Grand Ole Opry Show Choir Nationals, Stagedoor Manor in New York, Chicago College of the Performing Arts, pop-up performances at the Vail Dance Festival, Vail Performing Arts Academy, Encore Musical Theatre Company, and Vail Valley Foundation’s Star Dancing Gala. Kirkman was recognized as a Chicago emerging choreographer in the Endowed Movement Showcase in 2018. She is currently founding HER Film Camp that provides middle school and high school students an opportunity to learn the process of filmmaking. She is thrilled to be back in the Vail Valley to cultivate programs, teach dance and produce video content.
