I only know the rhythm of a school year. See, my whole life I’ve only either been a student or an educator moving with the cadence of new beginnings and fresh starts in August and celebrations and goodbyes in May. So once again with a few days until the new school year begins, I find myself hyped up – a little like the day before my first childhood visit to Disney World. Why? It’s mostly because I’m eager to see a new VCHS student body assembled together – returning students, the Class of 2027, and several new transfer students from Eagle County and far beyond. I love working with teenagers and sharing in their energy!

I’m always curious about what God might have in store for us in a new school year including what we don’t even know yet. What I do know is that we have planned (and are planning) some special things for our students and school community. Things like –

• We’re celebrating our school’s 25^th Anniversary – 25 years of God’s faithfulness to VCHS!
• We’re pushing further and deeper into three VCHS words from our mission – Purpose, Service, and Leadership. Stay tuned for an optional unique pilot experience for Freshmen, as well as a specially designed week of learning and service for Juniors.
• We’re excited to better connect with our 550+ alumni and tell many of their stories. With those stories, we hope to inspire today’s Saints.

I look forward to seeing 10^th-12^th grade students on Monday (14^th), 9^th grade students on Tuesday (15^th), and everyone together on Wednesday (16^th). Join me in praying for a strong start to the new school year.

The All School Clean-Up is a long time tradition at VCHS! Parents, students and faculty gather for a morning of service getting the campus ready for the start of school. There is no need to RSVP. Jobs will vary from inside cleaning to grounds work. Bring work gloves and please check in at the West Building when you arrive. Thank you for your service!

Come for a half hour, an hour or the entire time! Whatever time you can give is a blessing to our campus!



If you have rakes, weed whackers, trimmers, leaf blowers or window washing tools please bring them! Thank you!

• Designs are due by August 7, 2023. No exceptions 
• Parking spots MUST be painted. Be sure to download the design application and submit it by August 7, 2023. No exceptions
• Spots may only be used by the student who purchased it. The make, model and license plate of the student's vehicle must be registered with school via Student Vehicle Registration on FACTS >Family Portal > Web Forms > Student Vehicle Registration
• Painting day will be from 9am - 5pm on Saturday, August 12th. Currently there are no other alternatives. If you cannot be present on this day, please contact the Parent Association 
• If you do not fulfill these obligations or decide that you no longer want to participate, you will forfeit your spot and your payment will be refunded on the credit card that was used for your purchase 
• If you end up not participating in this fundraiser, there will still be parking spots available on campus on a non-assigned, first-come first-served basis subject to the policies of the VCHS administration
