What will the 2020-21 school year look like given COVID-19?
First, I am deeply committed to
safe, in-person teaching and learning starting August 17th.
Second, two task forces –
– will make final recommendations to me in June. No later than
, I will communicate our school’s plan to reopen campus in August and to ensure our Saints receive an excellent education. I’m thankful to Sheldon Kuhns (Director of Facilities) and Bizzy Barry (Board Member) for leading as
Co-chairs and to Christy and Ed Dent and Chip Woodland for serving as parent volunteers. I’m also thankful to Mindy Larson (Principal) and Kevin Bohren (Board Member) for leading as
Co-chairs and to Kristi Grems for serving as a parent volunteer.
Third, I am convinced that whatever COVID-19 may throw our way, VCHS will be prepared to weather any tough storm. In-person instruction will always be our goal. If that will not be possible due to a particular family situation or public health order directive, we will have exceptional virtual options to meet any needs.
You’ll be the first to know our COVID-19 game plan before
. Knowing the high-caliber people involved with the task forces and the quality of the forthcoming recommendations, I’m confident our core values – excellence and community – will remain strong.
