VCHS is home to 158 students today, and for almost 500 alumni, VCHS is also home. Although this Homecoming Week mostly allows our current students and teachers the opportunity to celebrate and have some fun with school traditions like Class Dance Competitions and Powder Puff Football Games, I want to give a shout out to our Saints Alumni who are always welcome home.
When I began at VCHS the Class of 2017 was here to welcome me – all 28 of them. This Homecoming Week, I found myself a little nostalgic wondering how they’re doing. So what did I do? I guess you could call it LinkedIn stalking. And although it’s not a comprehensive list, this is what I learned.
- Many finished college in 3 years given their success with our AP and DE courses
- Several are already pursing graduate studies in business and medicine, and for the rest, they’re gainfully employed
- Gen, Carmen and Faye are educators
- Mack is an aspiring litigation attorney
- Sophia is a biomedical engineer
- Emily is an aspiring physician
- Haley has a marketing position with Guaranteed Rate
- Max is pursuing a Master’s degree in Quantum Engineering Hardware.
-
Jessie is a 1st year pharmacy student
- Sophia and Christian are pursuing business-related careers in NYC
- And the list could go on…
I’m proud of the VCHS Class of ’17 – all of them. I’m also proud of the rest of our alumni and all of our current students who will soon call VCHS their alma mater. This Homecoming Week we celebrate all of our students, past and present, and welcome everyone – home!
