VARSITY TRACK
Coaches:
Ken Fuller & Janet Loch

The varsity track teams enjoyed a fine year with significant improvement over last season...

The boys team finished 10th in the league meet and 7th at sectionals. The top finisher at the sectional meet was Jon Bennett, with a 2nd place in the pole vault. The scoring leader throughout the season was Jon Ballard, whose versatility in several different events proved to be a cornerstone of the team. The girls team had an outstanding season, finishing 3rd in the league meet and 4th at sectionals. The Saints had two relay teams win league championships. Those teams included Addie Sgroi, Sage Sgroi, Elinore Loch, Charlotte Matzal, Gabby Capone and Abby Studt. The other relay team (Annette Blair, Joanna Goncalves, Abby Studt and Meghan Blair) was 2nd. At the sectional championships, Charlotte Matzal was an individual sectional champion with her high jump of 4' 10". Another highlight was a school record by Elinore Loch in the 400 meter hurdles. Special congratulations to the two seniors on the team, Annette Blair and Joanna Goncalves, who completed excellent 4 year careers. They have both been important components of the team both at meets and with their leadership in practice.

Modified Track
Coaches:
 Tim Murphy & Gabe Whittaker

The Boys and Girls modified track teams had a great season learning about the sport, honoring God through our efforts and interactions with opposing teams, and having lots of fun.  Most of the team members were new to the sport this year.  Still, the girls team managed a record of 13 wins and 5 losses in our dual meets.  The boys, meanwhile, with a balance of talent across the different events, won all 18 dual meets against the smaller schools.  At the JD Invitational, two school records were broken!
Parker Bowden, Peter Gnade, Caleb Drew, and Jacob Kopylczak broke the school record in the 4 X 400 relay by 12 seconds.  Parker, Peter, Caleb, and Kody Fike took 15 seconds off of the old 4 X 800 modified school record.
Way to go, Saints!

Let's Play Ball!
Baseball 2013
Four Faith Heritage students had a great time this spring playing baseball with LaFayette.  David Buff, Jonathan Job and Jake Riccelli (above photo) joined with boys from LaFayette to play Modified Baseball.
Michael Quesinberry

Next year, FHS students will have the opportunity to play Modified and Varsity Baseball
& Softball
on the combined LaFayette/ FHS team!  Be listening in the Fall, or speak with Mr. Fuller about how you can be part of the team!!

A Look Back in Time--
Seniors Unearth Time Capsule!

Time Capsule

Time Capsule On June 5th at the Faith Heritage School Garden the seniors dug up their 4th grade time capsule.   It was a very exciting, meaningful, and fun time.  This year's graduating class is the first class to retrieve their time capsule that was prepared 8 years ago when the project was first started.  The capsules included notes from grandparents and parents, letters to their future selves, a "Then and Now" activity, an "All About Me" booklet, and other works along with a class picture.
Time Capsule "It was very emotional and special to see my once 4th graders, now young adults, sharing in this activity,"
says Mrs. Doyle who began this project in 2005. "May God's faithfulness and love continue to bless and keep these young adults."

Me & Bailey Shattell...
Senior Class Chaplain

Normally I include a picture from my own camera for this section of the Saints Report.  This time around I had to choose a picture taken by someone else on Blue Gold Day because I want to take a moment to say how proud I am of Bailey Shattell and the entire senior class.  Bailey was the senior class chaplain this year and did an amazing job.  She has a passion for drawing others into fellowship with The Lord.  This passion had an impact on her classmates and younger students at the school.  I greatly appreciated the senior assembly on this day-- they were smart, talented, and funny.  Bailey made sure that they ended in a time of praise and charged the juniors and underclassmen to step it up for Christ.  FHS seniors loving The Lord with all their heart, soul, strength, and mind!
