Our goal:
Alleviate the impact of COVID-19 on low-income children
and the working poor by
supplementing and supporting
the ongoing efforts of government, school systems
and social service agencies.
Our strategy:
Community outreach to
quickly raise funds
and solicit goods and services necessary to support this goal.
Release funds in a coordinated fashion as quickly as possible

Work collaboratively to identify gaps in service.
Develop plans to close gaps.
Generate incremental resources to close those gaps.
Reach out to the business community, private donors, and others.
Provide help to cope with the expected increase in demand.
Avoid duplication of effort among nonprofit agencies.
The fund was created by United Way of Delaware Board of Directors and a
subcommittee, the Salem County Advisory Committee
