February 2019 | Salem Family YMCA
Have you noticed a thermometer in the lobby? Why would we put a giant thermometer in the lobby you ask? It's our annual campaign and we need your help!

Donate today  to support your local YMCA. $50 will teach a child to swim and be safe around water. $100 will give a senior the ability to become pain free. $500 will give a struggling family a fun place to be with their kids and catch their breathe. Don't wait! Join us in our mission and donate.
Meet Our New Staff

Dutchie Mirolli, Wellness Coordinator
Wellness Coordinator Dutchie Mirolli has been a group fitness instructor since 1996, and a personal trainer since 2009. She recently served as Fitness/Wellness Manager at the Waldron Wellness Center in Shawsville, and is thrilled to be back at the Salem YMCA where she first started working in 2007.  Her background includes specialties like Body Pump and Body Flow, Yoga, Pilates, cycling, muscle conditioning and more.  She especially enjoys helping clients improve their balance and core strength.

Kelani Lawrence, Membership Director
Kelani is our awesome new Membership Director and previously the Kirk Family YMCA's Membership Coordinator! She moved from Norfolk, VA to Roanoke the summer of 2017, where she currently resides with her husband and holland lop-eared dwarf bunny (yes, "Buns" is house and litter trained!). Kelani grew up in her local YMCA learning to swim, participating in youth sports, volunteering and eventually working. Outside of the Y, she spends her time volunteering as a coach for the Roanoke College Field Hockey Team, competing on the Ladies' Professional Racquetball Tour, and hanging out with friends, family, and Buns. Stop by the Welcome Desk, she would love to meet you!

Amanda Keffer, Membership Coordinator
Amanda started at the Salem Family YMCA in 2016 as a Membership Representative and moved into the role of Membership Coordinator in September of 2018. Amanda has a cat Stewie and a puppy Bo, who has been kicked out of obedience school twice. She loves to cook and baked (so if you have any good recipes, please send them her way!) Amanda is passionate about the YMCA and all of the programs we have to offer here, and is always looking for new ways to serve our members!

Sammuel St. Fleur, Youth and Family Coordinator
Sammuel graduated from Salem High School in 2012 and Liberty University in 2017. He enjoys playing and watching basketball as well as spending family time with his wife Kelly, and his son Finn. As the new Youth and Family Coordinator his responsibilities include programming for youth sports, pickup sports, YPass, and assisting with all other Youth and Family programming.
