Wishing you a wonderful holiday season!
New TerraCycle Collection
Salem has a new TerraCycle collection! The "Rubbermaid Food Storage" bin at City Hall Annex (1st Floor) accepts ALL brands of the items shown. (Notice that black plastic to-go containers are accepted!)

Divert these items from the trash, and we'll mail them to TerraCycle for recycling.

TerraCycle is a social enterprise Eliminating the Idea of Waste®. In 21 countries, they tackle the issue from many angles. We have found that nearly everything we touch can be recycled, and collect typically non-recyclable items through national, first-of-their-kind recycling platforms.
They make it possible to recycle difficult items that are unable to be recycled curbside.

Textile Recycling Event Success!
SalemRecycles hosted the Textile & TerraCycle Drive at Riley Plaza on Saturday November 19th.

There were over 360 residents who participated by bringing clothing, household textiles and TerraCycle items to be recycled.

The HELPSY truck was filled THREE times and a whopping 9,237 lbs of textiles were collected!

Thank you to all who made this event such a wonderful success!
