Brevard Public Schools is working to educate residents on the half-cent sales surtax that is up for renewal this election cycle. The current surtax, passed by voters in 2014, will sunset on December 31, 2020. An option to extend the surtax is on the election ballot. The proposed renewal is a continuation of the
current sales surtax. It is NOT a new, added, or increased tax.

Episode 3 of District Podcast Series Focuses on Central Area Schools
The district has launched a new podcast series titled "BPS Smart," focused on important happenings in our schools. The first three episodes of the series are dedicated to the timely half-cent sales surtax and its impact countywide. In this, the third and final surtax-focused episode, Superintendent Mullins discusses planned improvements and upgrades to schools located in the Central Area of the county.
