Update on Jail
Thank you for signing up to stay informed about the Saline County Jail Project. If you no longer wish to receive updates on the Jail Project, please see the unsubscribe information at the bottom of this email.
For our last update (in March - sorry, time flies when you're building a jail), we talked about visiting South Dakota to see the precast cells being manufactured. Well, those cells are now in Salina (with more arriving daily) and are starting to be set in place. Sheriff Soldan took the photo below on Monday, June 6, as the first double-cell unit was being lowered onto its concrete base.
Over the next couple of weeks, crews will set the remaining cells in place while other teams are working to erect block walls in areas where those walls will be load-bearing. Structural steel beams are scheduled to start being placed next week as well. Once all the precast cells are set, concrete crews will return to pour slabs in the dayroom areas between cells.

Staff continues making progress updates to the County Commission each month. The next update is scheduled for Tuesday, June 14. You can watch the Commission meetings on Cox Cable or on the County's YouTube channel.

Stay tuned for more information!
