Bethany Banks '14 graduated from Salisbury with a B.S. in education and a minor in psychology. Her experiences as a student in the education program prepared her to accept a teaching position before graduating with the Baltimore County Public School System. Bethany has continued her teaching career and has taken on new and exciting challenges within her career.
  
Alumni Homecoming & Family Weekend

Alumni Homecoming & Family Weekend is scheduled for the weekend of October
12-14. Special reunions are currently planned for the classes of '58, '68, '78, '83 and '98. Also, we have reunions for the Communication Arts Department, Center for Student Achievement and ResLife; tours and open house of the Medical Simulation Center; and tours of the Guerrieri Academic Commons.

The Maroon & Gold Club hosts its annual golf tournament on Friday as well as the Athletics Hall of Fame banquet.

SU Alumnus Named New York History Teacher Of The Year

Dr. Dennis Urban, a Salisbury University alumnus and a social studies teacher at John F. Kennedy High School in Bellmore, NY, has been named the 2018 New York History Teacher of the Year. The award is presented annually by the Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History. Urban received his B.A. in history from SU in 2002, before earning advanced degrees from Columbia University.

Mayo Clinic Selects SU Student for Summer Lab Science Program

SU student Garrett Gordy was selected for a competitive Summer Lab Science Program in the Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN – the nation’s top-ranked hospital, according to U.S. News and World Report.

Sea Gull Century 2018 Celebrating 30 Years

Join us for the 30th Anniversary Celebration of Sea Gull Century on Saturday, October 6! Supporters of the ride include several SU alumni, including t-shirts provided by Vonda Rossi '81 from Chesapeake Screen Printing; registration and website support from Doug Church '03 with Vantage Point Solutions; and entertainment from the Dave Smith '04 Band, Sarah '07 and Matt Robins, as well as Cascading Carlos, Carlos Mir '89, a Guinness World record title holder for juggling. Enjoy samples from alumni-owned businesses, including Sposato Family Vineyards, Tony '90 and Karen '90 Sposato, and Dolle’s taffy, Bunky '95 & Pam '76 Dolle. Medical services are provided to our riders by current nursing and health science majors and all event volunteers are SU students, faculty and staff. Sign up for a weekend of fun, cycling and memories when you return to your Alma Mater to tour the Eastern Shore!
