In 2019, Salish Sea Studies was officially adopted as a minor at Western Washington University. Six years later, 57 students are enrolled in the minor and classes are full. Mia Limmer-Lai, our Tahlequah endowed intern, wrote an article about the Introduction to the Salish Sea class.

Scientists from British Columbia and Washington state met in Bellingham, WA for a 2-day workshop on Salmon and Estuaries Feb 24-25th. The Salish Sea Institute sponsored the Salish Sea Salmon and Estuaries workshop organized by WWU's Kathryn Sobocinski and colleagues.
