Manager's Message
Landscaping
|
|
|
Hello neighbors,
As you may have noticed, at the height of COVID-19 there was a slight modification to the landscaping service provided to Salishan by Signature Landscaping. These modifications enabled them to follow the governors directions on the operation of essential businesses and on social distancing. The crew of Signature are just getting into the swing of their routine now, so it will be a few more weeks or so before they can get back to their normal routine and cover the entire property.
Our General Manager is meeting with their staff on an ongoing basis to go over the scope of their schedule and to make up the loss of time during the height of COVID-19 restrictions. For the time being, you may notice crews operating in different areas then normally scheduled and on some Fridays.
We apologize for this temporary disruption in the service patterns, but can assure you that normal landscaping service will be back in the full swing soon.
Stay safe, stay healthy, stay connected, and have a great Memorial Day weekend!
Janette Simon -
General Manager

News From Around Salishan:
Salishan's Virtual Community Prom
By: Autom Duncan, Karen Braa, & Robin Javid students of the Eastside Meaningful Homeschool

On
May 15th
, the Salishan Association hosted a
“Mask”erade Virtual Prom
.
Everyone was invited to dress up, be photographed, and tune in to the Salishan Association Facebook's Livestream complete with a DJ curated Spotify playlist, a live MC, and featured participant videos. Below is an article about the event written by youth from the
Eastside Meaningful Homeschool
:
With the onset of COVID-19, Salishan’s Island Dance Night and all the local high school proms had to be cancelled. To help get our community together and congratulate the senior class of the 2020 school year, we created a dance celebration in their honor.
People were dressed in their finest clothes and the Association arranged for a photographer to come by people’s homes to take outdoor prom pictures of them.
There was lots of dancing to the good music in homes, and the songs included dance music and songs from around the world influenced by COVID-19.
The host of the prom, Zamara, invited people to share comments about their past prom experiences, their favorite quarantine moments or to share live video of them dancing for a chance to win Safeway gift cards from the Salishan Association.
We recreated prom for people who did not get to in the past and also this current year.
The prom sure was a blast for us! If you enjoyed this virtual prom let us know if we should do more dances like this!
