Final Projects and Activities
While there was certainly a lot of celebrating this week, many students were preparing final presentations and participating in final learning activities. Here's a look at what some of our youngest and oldest students did this week.

Balls and Ramps
If you survey our elementary students on their favorite lessons, the balls and ramps unit is sure to come up!
Amy's first graders finished their balls and ramps unit by building complex structures.  They used all they learned about the properties of different balls and how those properties and ramp design affect a ball's movement.  Each group drew a design plan for their complex structure, encountered obstacles and had to adapt their plan in some way.

History Projects
Our 7th & 8th grade students finished their Washington State History unit by designing utopian countries and coming up with innovative strategies to make America "a more perfect union." Hearing their ideas, it sounds like our nation's future will be in pretty good hands.

Thank You

We did it! At times, it may have seemed as if the end of this school year would never come. Yet, here we are amidst the bittersweet goodbyes and summer excitement. It's been a year full of activities, growth and learning. And none of it would have happened without the strong support of this community. Thank you for giving of your time, talents and treasure. Your volunteer efforts make a difference to our students and are the key to the enrichment opportunities we provide. We couldn't do it without you!

I wish you a refreshing and relaxing break with family and friends. And I look forward to hearing about your summer adventures when next we meet!

In gratitude,

Jodi
