Biography Night
In social studies, students have been participating in the
6th Grade Biography Project
! This is a fun and engaging way for students to demonstrate research and writing skills, and practice presenting information in front of an audience. Students picked an impactful person they were interested in learning about and researched their life and accomplishments.
On Wednesday evening, students transformed our school into a living museum and audience members had a chance to learn about each historical figure's life.

Girls on the Run
A huge congratulations to the members of the Girls on the Run team for ending the season in such an inspiring and powerful way by completing a 5 km run last weekend! The girls worked really hard all season long and grew as both runners and friends over the past ten weeks. It was wonderful to see the proud smiles of the girls and their supporters after crossing the finish line, and we know the girls are going to take what they have learned throughout the season and share their positivity with others. Thank you for a wonderful season!

FOSB is our school parent teacher organization. All parents and guardians are automatically members.
FOSB Meeting Minutes
Minutes from FOSB meetings are available at www.friendsofsalmonbay.org. Check out our minutes to learn about current happenings in our classroom and updates on school day happenings from administration.
FOSB volunteer needs for the 2019-2020 school year
We still have open leadership positions and we need family support to make this organization work. Please contact
fosbchair@gmail.com
if you're interested in getting involved next year.
After School Program Committee:
This committee finds and organizes after-school programs for Salmon Bay students, including determining the programming for each quarter and managing registration. This is a great work-from-home opportunity that you can flex to your schedule. Two or three volunteers are needed.
At-Large/Apprentice Treasurer:
FOSB's treasurers are looking for an additional volunteer to join them next year. If you have budget or finance experience, are interested in gaining some, or just want to learn how FOSB's fundraising and budget process works, consider being a part of this important team.
Co-Chair:
FOSB's co-chairs serve as meeting facilitators, collaborators, and advocates for families, students, and staff. We have an experienced co-chair returning to FOSB next year in the middle school co-chair role. If you have an elementary student and want to be more active in their school experience, this could be the role for you!
Committees:
FOSB has many committees that are looking for additional participation.
Consider joining the Parent Information Exchange (PIE), GardenCommittee, Legislative Committee, Funding Equity Committee (looking for a chair to continue), and more. Check out www.friendsofsalmonbay.org for more information about committees or contact fosbchair@gmail.com.
Rock For FOSB Thanks
A HUGE thank you to all of the talented folks who gifted our community with a great night of live music last weekend. Your efforts helped us raise over $1300 to support Salmon Bay!
