Delamotte is BACK.
"The unofficial second label of the super-prestige marquee, Salon, in that Delamotte has first rights to any grapes from Salon’s prized 50 year old vineyards in the premier Chardonnay village of Le Mesnil-sur-Oger that it’s neighbor doesn’t need for it’s own Champagne." -Forbes (link)

Delamotte: The Sister Champagne of Salon
(Cult 100pt Legend & World's Most Coveted)
|
|
"Delamotte tends to get lost in the mystique that surrounds Salon, its sister winery, which is a real shame, as the Delamotte Champagnes are increasingly finessed and worthy of being appreciated within their own context."
-Antonio Galloni, 94 Points

Dear friends,
If you're a collector, you have likely heard about the incredibly rare Champagne Salon. It is, as Antonio Galloni says, "one of Champagne's most mystical and elusive wines," having declared only 40 vintages since its founding in 1905. But did you know Salon has a sister property, Delamotte? Here's how Galloni continued:
"When Salon does not declare a vintage, the wines go to Delamotte, Salon's sister property and neighbor. Because of that, the Delamotte Champagnes are often mentioned as an after thought. That is a shame, because the Delamotte Champagnes deserve to be appreciated on their own terms."
Delamotte, founded in 1760, is one of the oldest houses in Champagne. The two neighbors Salon and Delamotte became part of Bernard Hinault's Laurent-Perrier group in 1986 and were joined under the same winemaking team in 1988.
Delamotte's Champagnes are certainly among the absolute best yet remain completely under-the-radar, which is great when it comes to their very reasonable prices. After being blown away enough times by having their vintage with some bottle age, as well as young new releases... Christine and I are proud to say this is our #1 All-Time Favorite Champagne House!
For today's offer, we've gathered all the bottles we could of this phenomenal producer, both Brut and Blanc de Blancs, in regular 750mL and 1.5L magnum sizes. Quantities are very limited, though, so please place your order promptly!
Santé,
—James & Christine Tran

Delamotte Blanc de Blancs Champagne NV
94 Points - Decanter:
"Persistent mousse with aromas of sloes, quince and red apples. Forward and approachable, with savoury undertones contrasting stone fruit and citrus flavours." - Simon Field, MW (Dec 2019)
93 Points - Allen Meadow's Burghound:
"A wonderfully fresh, yeasty and quite citrus-inflected nose speaks of green apple and just a hint of petrol. The pure, intense and utterly delicious flavors carry plenty of aged yeast character that are supported by a firm but distinctly fine effervescence that also shapes the very dry but not austere finish. This is very blanc de blancs in style and offers excellent depth plus it's extremely stylish. For the record this is not a power Champagne but rather one of finesse and refinement. I very much like this plus it could be drunk now or aged for 5+ years if desired." (Oct 11, 2017)
93 Points - Wine & Spirits:
"Rich in the middle while completely dry, this has the scent of chalk talc and the same austerity in its lively, crisp acidity. The fine effervescence gives it flash, while the sober, young chardonnay flavors carry the greenness of fresh English peas. If you open it now, you could pick up on that youthfulness next to a creamy spring pea soup with prosciutto."
93 Points - Robert Parker's WA:
"The latest release of Delamotte's NV Brut Blanc de Blancs, the house's emblematic bottling, is once again showing very well, bursting with aromas of citrus zest, freshly baked bread, nougat, crisp stone fruit and white flowers. Medium to full-bodied, ample and pillowy, with a fleshy core of fruit, bright acids and a pretty pinpoint mousse, it's a seamless, elegant wine that concludes with a flavorful finish." - WK (8/22)

Delamotte Brut Champagne NV
91 Points - James Suckling:
"Tasty NV Brut with notes of salted butter on toast, pie crust, lemon curd, mango and honeycomb. Medium-bodied with soft bubbles and a ripe, creamy finish. Drink now." (Jun 2022)
91 Points - Wine Spectator:
"A minerally Champagne, with a streak of smoke, chalk and oyster shell notes supporting flavors of Asian pear, star fruit and candied lemon peel as they ride the creamy mousse. Racy, focused finish. Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier. Drink now. 35,400 cases made, 6,250 cases imported." - AN (Nov 2022)
90 Points - Wine Advocate:
"The latest release of Delamotte's NV Brut is especially charming, bursting with aromas of crisp orchard fruit, peach and freshly baked bread. Medium to full-bodied, pillowy and enveloping, it's a fleshy, giving wine that's ample and pliant, with a pinpoint mousse and a nicely defined finish." - William Kelley (Aug 2022)
90 Points - Jeb Dunnuck:
"The NV Champagne Brut is 60% Chardonnay, 35% Pinot Noir, and the rest Meunier, with the base vintage being from 2017. It pours a pale straw, with fresh and inviting aromas of fruit punch, wet stone, and bread dough. The palate is full of life and drinking well now, with rounded golden orchard fruit, lime zest, and a hint of graham biscuit. A solid entry wine from the range, this would be a fantastic aperitif or wine by the glass. Drink 2022-2032." (11/7/2022)
90 Points - Wine Enthusiast:
"An attractively dry Champagne that highlights its mineral texture as much as its ripe white fruits, this is tense, with a fine bite of acidity. The bottling is young and the wine needs to soften for the full experience. Drink from 2023." - RV (12/2022)
