Teen Library Takeover

Are you a teen that has an idea for an event or activity you'd like to see at Redwood City Public Library? Are you interested in helping us celebrate the diversity of the people and ideas in our community? If so, come take over your Library!



Teen Library Takeover will provide small one-time grants of up to $1,000 to groups of teens in the Redwood City and North Fair Oaks communities who have an idea for a Library program. Teams selected for the grants will receive help from Library staff to plan and deliver their programs. Also, up to four members of each core planning team will each receive a $100 stipend.

Riders looking for regional transit connections

can catch Route EPX at limited stops

US-101 to SFO AirTrain and San Bruno BART. The four EPX trips to downtown San Francisco stop along Mission Street

near Civic Center, Salesforce Transit Center, Financial District, and the San Francisco, Ferry Building.

NOVAworks

Are you between the ages of 17 and 24? Do you live in Santa Clara County or San Mateo County? Would you like help in setting educational goals? Are you looking for work or starting out on your career path? NOVAworks can help.


NOVAworks' Young Adult Program is a great place for young people, ages 17-24, to learn how to search for jobs effectively, to explore careers, to find volunteer opportunities, and much more. Friendly, supportive staff help youth and young adults make good choices about jobs, education, and careers.

TaxAid 2024

Tax Aid is a nonprofit organization

that provides properly prepared tax

returns for Bay Area families and

individuals with incomes less than

$64,000. Tax returns are prepared at

no cost by volunteers who donate

their time.

12th Annual OYE Confrence

Celebrate 12 years with the OYE Planning Committee bringing together hundreds of local teens and young adults ages 12 to 22. This fun and interactive day is an opportunity for youth and their parents to explore questions of identity and purpose and build community through hands-on workshops, inspirational speakers, artistic expression, community resource sharing, and networking.


There will be performances, interactive workshops, resource tables, and free breakfast and lunch for all participants. Bring your youth out this year on March 23rd to Cañada College!


The OYE Planning Committee 2024 looks forward to celebrating with you!

Familias Unidas Workshops

Familias Unidas is providing a free program in Spanish for families of North Fair Oaks and Redwood City. Workshops will support parents and students by equipping them with the necessary tools to ensure their success throughout the school year with an emphasis on mathematics, reading and growth mindset. They will also receive accurate information about the latest available health resources and resources to help their finances. They will be provided with a math handbook for parents, books, free school supplies, and more.

Park Picture Contest

Explore your favorite San Mateo County Parks with your camera and enter your favorite photos in our contest. You could win a $125 REI gift card in one of three categories:

  • Landscapes and Waterscapes
  • Up Close with Nature
  • People in Parks


All finalist photos will be featured on our website for public voting to select the “People’s Choice” award winner, who will receive a $175 REI gift card. Submit your photos online starting February 8. We will accept any photos that are taken from December 21 until the end of the submission period on March 25.

The 11th Annual High School Dreamers Unite!

Members of the Sequoia High School Dream Club have prepared and will facilitate workshops on topics relevant to immigrant, first generation, and undocumented high school students. We invite all students and their adult supporters to attend! There will be a strand of workshops presented in Spanish.


Topics include: How to Take Care of Your Emotional Well Being, Know Your Rights, Life Beyond DACA, How to Choose and Pay for College, and more!

Community Stewardship Days

Volunteer to work with park staff to remove invasive species and perform a variety of seasonal tasks. Stewardship days occur at all 24 parks throughout the year. Click HERE to register for an upcoming event.

Youth Financial Workshop Series

This workshop empowers teens to navigate the complex financial landscape of adulthood, ensuring they have the tools and resources to thrive and face financial challenges head-on. Participants will gain: independence, responsibility, emergency preparedness, credit management, life skills, and ways to reduce stress.

Free Caltrain Pass

Caltrain Pass Forward provides free train trips on Caltrain between any zone at any time. Approved applicants will receive a special Clipper Card loaded with the Pass Forward. This card must be used to tag on and off at the Caltrain Stations for valid use. Go Passes are valid until 12/31/24 with limited supply.


To be eligible, you must:

  • Earn less than $70,000/year
  • Work or live in San Mateo County
  • Use the pass to get to work or for job searching purposes
  • Use the pass at least twice a week.
