Key Findings – Measuring Downtown San Diego’s Recovery:

  • Downtown San Diego is in the top three overall foot-traffic recovery when combining visitors, residents, and workers.
  • Downtown San Diego residential recovery rate is 111% with more residents living in the core of Downtown than in 2019.
  • Visitors have been the driving force behind Downtown’s rebound, as Downtown San Diego is 1 of only 3 cities (per the report) that have achieved 90% visitor recovery.
  • San Diego was in the top four Downtowns in non-resident worker recovery, directly behind Midtown Manhattan.
