March of Dimes leads the fight for the health of all moms and babies. We support research, lead programs, and provide education and advocacy so that every family can have the best possible start. Building on a successful 80-year legacy, we support every pregnant person and family. Every year 4 million babies are born. This is an exciting and challenging time, but it can also be scary when everything doesn’t go as planned. Your family can show your support by sending a note of hope to another family. You can write a note to a family with a baby currently in the NICU or a note to healthcare providers, nurses, and staff on the frontlines to ensure that moms and babies receive the best possible care. Share your words of encouragement to let them know they’re not alone during this difficult time. Download t he template and create your own note or write your note and submit it digitally.

Clean Out Your Closet!
Soles4Soles
Date/Time: Ongoing opportunity
Ages: Everyone can help
Time Commitment: Varies
Soles4Souls disrupts the cycle of poverty by creating sustainable jobs and providing relief through the distribution of shoes and clothing worldwide. Since 2006, Soles4Souls has distributed more than 35 million pairs of shoes in 127 countries and generated over $250 million in economic impact. The average person in North America throws away 70 pounds of textiles every year. That’s 21 billion pounds of extra waste dumped in our landfills every year! Since 2006, Soles4Souls supporters have diverted 59 million pounds of shoes and clothing from landfills. Your family can help by cleaning out your closets and donating your used shoes to Soles4Soles. All you need to do is:
- Grab some trash bags and go to your closets!
- Put the shoes in a trash bag - it can be 1, 5, or 100 pairs
Note: Every 20 pairs collected = 1 hour of community service! If your child needs service hours for school, this will count.
