As your City Council, we would like to share with you the first edition of a brand new San Dimas Community Newsletter for May, 2023. As the elected policymakers for this community, we value the input and feedback of our residents, businesses and stakeholders. 


We also know that it is important to find new opportunities for engagement and communication. We hope as you read this monthly newsletter it will provide you with valuable information as a resident, business owner, or occasional visitor in the City of San Dimas. Each issue will feature a range of important topics including events, services, programs, project highlights and provide helpful tips and news. City Council to Consider Notice of Opposition to Proposed "By-Right" Project in County Unincorporated Area


The San Dimas City Council have requested for their review a Notice of Opposition regarding a proposed permanent supportive housing project in an unincorporated area between the cities of La Verne and San Dimas. The letter will be discussed and considered for submittal to the County Board of Supervisors during the May 9th City Council meeting at 7pm.


The draft letter includes a detailed summary of concerns raised by residents, businesses, and City staff and a request to reallocate funding to another project in Los Angeles County.

City Homelessness - Expanded Services Offered


At the February 28, 2023 City Council meeting, the San Dimas Council approved a contract with the Los Angeles Centers for Alcohol and Abuse (LA CADA) for expanded services in San Dimas. The outreach team conducts proactive outreach throughout the City, offering assistance such as reconnecting to family, substance treatment, housing solutions, and mental health services.

Northern Foothills Trail - New Trail Loop at Horsethief Canyon Park


Enjoy nature and experience the beauty of the San Dimas foothills on the new Northern Foothills Trail.


The Northern Foothills Trail (NFT) is a new trail loop that was recently completed and linked the trails at Horsethief Canyon Park. The trail features several amenities, including a scenic lookout with a picnic bench and hitching post. There is a gate at the Northwest end of the trail, at the connection to the Poison Oak Trail. The fences along the trail keep hikers, cyclist and equestrian users safe on the steeper portion of the terrain. There is also picnic area at the top of Face Trail, where the Northern Foothills Trail starts. Ample parking is available at Horsethief Canyon Park to access all the trails, which include Strawberry Trail, Face Trail, Poison Oak Trail, Sycamore Canyon Trail and the Northern Foothills Trail.

2023 Older American Honoree - Carolyn Gomm


The City of San Dimas is proud to announce the selection of Carolyn Gomm as the 2023 Older AmericanHonoree!

Carolyn was nominated by several San Dimas residents and chosen by the San Dimas Senior Commission to represent the City of San Dimas for 2023.


Carolyn has lived in San Dimas for many years. She is retired from the Bonita Unified School District where she taught for 32 years. Once Carolyn retired, she did not slow down.

The City of San Dimas has implemented free Wi-Fi access throughout our beautiful downtown area! May 1-6 is Municipal Clerks Week!


Celebrated each May, Clerks Week recognizes the vital and appreciated services performed by Municipal Clerks serving the changing needs of our community. 


The San Dimas City Council officially recognized Clerks Week via a proclamation. City Clerks are responsible for the care, protection and preservation of the historical City documents, plan and prepare city elections and provide research and information services for the City. 


Thank you to our stellar team for always keeping our administration organized and for being a vital piece in our democratic process!
