Sheriff's Office Celebrates Black History Month
By Assistant Sheriff Tanzanika Carter

This month we not only celebrate those African Americans who have done great things in the past, but those who are phenomenal right now.

This is the year of equity, inclusion and diversity. We all should embrace this time while we continue to work towards equitable living.

This month should stir the conscience of those who understand the past while calling for allies to be present and support us in this moment.

The San Francisco Sheriff’s Office celebrates the accomplishments of African Americans who have been and continue to be influential in building this country and this department.

We recognize the importance of this month and hope to re-imagine equity and diversity with our African American community members. Below is a montage of staff we have highlighted on social media during February.

SF emergency workers to get COVID vaccine
Dear Friends,

In case you missed the news, San Francisco is opening up COVID-19 vaccinations to Tier 1, Phase 1B, effective February 24, 2021.

What does this mean to the Sheriff's Office?

SFSO staff who want vaccines can get them at last. The 1B phase includes individuals who work in emergency services (that's us) as well as teachers and childcare providers, and people who work in food and agriculture.

San Francisco has created a network of vaccination sites to get as many people vaccinated as soon as possible. When doses become more readily available, the City has a goal of providing 10,000 vaccine doses per day.
How do I sign up?

If you're a City resident and you plan to get the vaccine, sign up now to get a text or email when you are eligible to receive the vaccine.
