What: The Herald Christian Health Center is launching a free COVID-19 testing location for anyone with COVID-19 symptoms and all asymptomatic essential workers.
Those that are eligible include:
- Individuals who exhibit symptoms of COVID-19
- Healthcare workers
- Social workers
- Grocery store workers
- Restaurant workers
- Food service employees
- Seniors aged 65 and up
- Patients with chronic diseases
Located in the City of San Gabriel, the Herald Christian Health Clinic is also the only site in the West San Gabriel Valley community that is able to provide such testing with English, Mandarin and Cantonese-speaking staff. COVID-19 testing at the Herald Christian Health Center is free, does not require patients to have health insurance and is provided regardless of immigration status.
The test is a polymerase chain reaction test, the only test approved by the CDC and FDA for COVID-19. The test is a self-administered nasal swab under the supervision of a healthcare professional and results are reported to patients within 2-3 days. Those who wish to receive a test must call 626.286.8700 to schedule an appointment.
Members of the media are invited to cover the launch of the multilingual testing location with members of the San Gabriel City Council. English and Chinese-speaking representatives will be on hand. In addition, Herald Christian Health Clinic has offered to test all employees of the City of San Gabriel who wish to be tested and such testing will also occur on the date of the press conference.
