Good evening, San Gabriel

This year's San Gabriel Lunar New Year Festival is quickly approaching! Join us in the Mission District on February 16 from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. for a celebration of the Lunar New Year!

Be sure to RSVP to the event page on Facebook for all the latest updates and news about this year's event, and submit an entry for this year's talent competition!

Now, here's what's making news for the week of January 9, 2019:
City Council to consider comprehensive
study from LA County Fire
As part of the City Council’s interest in evaluating Los Angeles County Fire as a possible option, City staff recommends that the City move forward with a comprehensive report that will detail the cost/benefit analysis of contracting fire services to the county. This study will also provide a detailed cost structure to the City.

It’s important to note that this study does not bind the City into taking any action or entry into an agreement with the county. Staff is prepared to present the results of the study at a future meeting.

It’s tax season again! Are you 50 years of age or older and are looking for some assistance with your tax return?

The San Gabriel Community Services Department and AARP are offering free tax assistance for older adults. AARP tax preparation will take place at the Community Recreation Center located at 250 South Mission Drive for tax payers with low to moderate income.
