San Gabriel, Calif. – On March 18 at approximately 8:00 p.m., the San Gabriel Police Department received a delayed report of an assault that had occurred earlier in the evening on the 400 block of South San Gabriel Boulevard.
Officers then responded to a local hospital, where a 23-year-old male victim was being treated for serious injuries to his head and his torso. The initial investigation revealed that the victim was assaulted with a machete after a dispute over money. San Gabriel Police were able to identify the suspect as Yuanfeng Kuang, a resident of San Gabriel. A search warrant was served at Kuang’s home, and he was subsequently arrested for attempted homicide, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of a controlled substance for sale.
