San Gabriel, CA- On October 19th, 2022 at approximately 9:23a.m., San Gabriel PD received a 9-1-1 call of a woman brandishing a gun in an apartment complex located in the 100 block of East Broadway in San Gabriel. Officers arrived on scene and found that the suspect had retreated into an apartment. A nearby high school was initially placed on lockdown as a precautionary measure only. Students have since been sent home safely.
At this time, the suspect is armed and alone inside a residence. San Gabriel PD has surrounded the residence with the assistance of partner law enforcement agencies. No injuries have been reported. LA County Sheriff's Special Enforcement Bureau (SEB) personnel has assumed tactical command and their Crisis Negotiation Team (CNT) is attempting to make contact with the suspect.
This incident is ongoing. San Gabriel PD strongly recommends that residents in the immediate area stay indoors as a precaution. We appreciate your patience as we work toward the safe and peaceful resolution of this incident.
