San Gabriel, Calif. –– On July 6th, 2021 at approximately 12:01 p.m., the San Gabriel Police Department responded to a call of a Hispanic male possibly armed with a gun in the 1100 block of E. Las Tunas Drive. Upon arrival, officers contained the area and isolated the suspect, who did not initially comply with officer's request to surrender. After a short negotiation, the suspect was safely detained without further incident.
San Gabriel Police remained on scene for a short time afterward to check the area out of an abundance of caution. Officers have since cleared the area, but the investigation remains ongoing. We appreciate the public's cooperation in staying away from the area while officers conducted the initial investigation. The 1100 block of E. Las Tunas Drive is now open for normal traffic.
