Please join us in supporting the San Gabriel Police Department as they participate in the annual Law Enforcement Torch Run in support of the Special Olympics Summer Games on Thursday, June 6 at 12:45 p.m. The SGPD will receive the torch from the Los Angeles County Sheriff - Temple City Station on Las Tunas Drive and will carry the torch through San Gabriel to the Monterey Park Police Department.

San Gabriel Library to offer screenwriting for teens
The San Gabriel Library is offering a special opportunity for teens! From Monday, June 24 to Wednesday, June 26, screenwriter Tony Sands will teach participants about the mechanics of storytelling and the industry.

For ages 12 to 17, these unique sessions will provide book giveaways for attendees while supplies last. Please register in person at the San Gabriel Library (located at 500 South Del Mar Avenue) or over the phone at 626.287.0761.
Start your summer at Surf's Up San Gabriel on June 13
We're excited to start the summer with Surf's Up San Gabriel! Come join us on Thursday, June 13 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. in front of the Mission Playhouse for live music, food trucks, games, a kids zone and a beer and wine garden provided by the San Gabriel Chamber of Commerce.

SGPD to host Chinese-speaking '411 with the Chief' June 5
As part of the department’s outreach efforts to engage with the community, the San Gabriel Police Department is now hosting Mandarin and Cantonese sessions of “411 with the Chief.”

Hosted by Police Chief Gene Harris, “411 with the Chief” allows residents of San Gabriel to meet directly with the Chief of Police and members of the police department in an informal setting. These new Mandarin and Cantonese sessions will be hosted on June 5, 2019, October 2, 2019 and February 5, 2020
San Gabriel Women's Foundation
to host installation and awards luncheon June 20
The San Gabriel Women's Foundation will host their installation and awards luncheon at the Hilton Los Angeles/San Gabriel on Thursday, June 20, 2019

Celebrate 4th of July in San Gabriel
Celebrate the 4th of July in San Gabriel with a parade and a free kids' day picnic with a barbecue, picnic games, community booths and more!

The City will also honor all members of the armed forces with an Honor Wall that will display all current and past troops that live in San Gabriel. If you'd like to nominate someone to be included in the wall, please click here. Submissions must be received by Friday, June 7.
