Of note, hearty congratulations to our very own GOP Chairman Dwayne Wright (above left), who was elected as Rules Chairman for Senate District 5! We couldn't be better represented.

Comptroller Releases Broadband Plan


State Comptroller Glenn Hegar last week released his agency’s plan to support the expansion of broadband internet access to areas with limited or no access. Hegar and his agency’s Broadband Development Office received feedback through a series of town halls, virtual discussions and more than 16,000 responses to a survey.

Republican Party of Texas Lauds Dobbs Opinion


The United States Supreme Court issued its final opinion on June 24th in Dobbs v. Jackson, which reversed Roe v Wade and Casey v Planned Parenthood and will allow the voters of each state to decide whether to give legal protection to their unborn children. The Texas Legislature has already passed HB1280, commonly known as the trigger bill, which will outlaw all abortion in Texas in 30 days.

Mission Red, White, and Blue! Special Joint Meeting Featuring Morgan Luttrell


Save the date of Monday, September 12, for a special joint meeting of the San Jacinto County and Polk County Republican Clubs. The event will be held at 5:30 PM, at VFW, Post 8568, 4951 Hwy 190 W in Livingston. Hot dogs, apple pie, and ice cream will be provided and the event will feature congressional candidate for TX-08 Morgan Luttrell. More details here. The Power of Prayer 


Supreme Court sides with high school coach over 50-yard-line prayers


The justices’ decision found that the school system infringed the coach’s religious freedom and freedom of speech rights by seeking to block him from engaging in public prayers on the field.
