The mission of the San Jose is to provide a unique environment that emphasizes high academic achievement through the use of state-of-the-art technology and innovative proven educational methods, which will prepare students to successfully compete in a competitive post-secondary environment and the global job market. These methods will include "Project Based Learning" (as defined by the nationally regarded non-profit Buck Institute for Education), individualized and small group instruction focusing on the needs and of the individual student. Our methods incorporate the internationally acclaimed Habits of the Mind curriculum to foster critical thinking skills, and standards-based electronic curriculum supplements from BrainPop, to the scientifically proven reading programs from Scientific Learning. The school will adhere to the guiding directors as outlined in Section 1002.33(2)(a) of the Florida Statute by providing students with an educational opportunity that promotes high student achievement and flexibility. The school will offer students a learning model that focuses on the development of the whole child to attain high academic standards, integrating technology in all aspects of learning, and promoting kindness and tolerance for others.
