Now Accepting Applications to the Data Workgroup

The HMIS Team is putting together a Data Workgroup to examine what metrics would be best to share with the Homeless Services Oversight Council (HSOC) and the public. The Team is looking for perspectives from HMIS-participating agencies as well as other stakeholders, and are especially interested in those with lived experience of homelessness.

If you are interested or would like a representative from your organization, please submit a response to the form linked below by July 8. Once participants are selected, a scheduling poll will go out to determine an initial meeting time.

Submit the Data Workgroup Interest Form here.

Q: Once I have identified a duplicate client in HMIS, how do I prepare a client profile for the merge?

Answer: While Clarity search features help to eliminate the creation of duplicate clients, it is good to be prepared for when you do find duplicate clients in HMIS. Prior to sending a Client Merge Request to the HMIS Support Email, review the profile for each client record to ensure it has the following: First name, Last name(s), Date of Birth, and Social Security Number (when available). Client merge requests should first be elevated to your organization's Agency Manager/ Administrator as they have the permissions in Clarity to edit the client profile. Read these directions and more in this HMIS Knowledge Base Article for Client Merges.

Q: I'm a manager and sometimes I hear the same questions from my staff. How can I help determine newsletter content?

Answer: The HMIS Support Team wants timely and relevant information to flow to all users and HMIS stakeholders. If there is a Frequently Asked Question or a curious question you want highlighted in the Newsletter, reach out to the team directly by contacting SS_HMISsupport@co.slo.ca.us and specifying what you would like to see asked and answered!
