New Website, Better Experience

The digital home for our family of publications is www.copperarea.com. We recently engaged a new vendor and completely revamped the site to include many new features will allow for faster site updating, better tie-ins with social media and expanding the website to hold 100 percent of all five publications' print content.

As part of the improved website, a fee has been added for full site access. Every effort was made to avoid adding cost to our readers, but we can't continue to offer all content free of charge in both print and online. For a modest $2 per month billed to your credit card via PayPal, you will have full access to the site and enjoy our growing archive of information.

Stories will be displayed by subject matter and community allowing readers to enjoy all sports or just their hometown news whichever meets their fancy. New forms have been added for submitted classified ads, news stories and print subscriptions. Twitter accounts have been added allowing our reporters to send alerts to the website as soon as they become aware of breaking news.

For all of you who have our site bookmarked, remember to reset them - so you can continue receiving news from the Copper Corridor.

It was reported that the gift included 41 acres and half of the water rights, and that it was hoped that the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) would purchase an extra 79 acres, the other half of the water right, and cooperate with the Arizona Game and Fish Department (AGFD) and Pinal County to create the native fish hatchery and public park on the..[Read full story]

School Board Approves Policy Against Bullying

Bullies, take note. Superior Schools won't tolerate your actions.

During its recent Wednesday, Aug. 3 meeting, the Superior School Board put some safeguards in place to further regulate instances of student violence and bullying. The Board further believes a school environment inclusive of these traits maximizes student achievement, fosters student personal growth, and helps students build a sense of community that promotes positive participation as members of society," as stated in the regulating material. With the recent rise in numbers of children being bullied across the nation, the alarming trend as instigated many school boards to take similar action to ensure student safety and comfort in their learning environment....[Read full story]
