Happy Labor Day!

As I sit at my desk to write this letter, there is actual rain falling from the sky. Rain isn't great for traffic counts but I'm not complaining!

I suppose now would be a good time to remind everyone that we're heading into peak hurricane season so, along with the rain, we're likely to see storms with substantial winds. Have you checked your tie-down straps lately? If your aircraft is unsecured or even loosely tied, your aircraft could be damaged by colliding with other aircraft or even T-shelter beams. Not a fun scenario for anyone.

Speaking of things being stored outdoors...

Last month we began our series to review our airport's existing Rules & Regulations and Minimum Standards. The first feature was a doozy: outside storage. We know this can be a sensitive subject and we want to work with all of our users to ensure compliance in a reasonable timeline. Because of this, we're giving this topic another month as our featured regulation.

Please take a moment to walk around you facility and see what you can do to improve the look of the airport. Reducing outside storage also helps keep aircraft, buildings, and (most importantly) people safe should one of those hurricane-season storms roll through.

Happy Flying,
