Happy month of the Turkey!
October marked the kick-off of the Taxiway Alpha Reconstruction Project and the official approval of the Airport Zoning Ordinance. These are two items that make a huge difference in the growth and protection of the airport and our surrounding neighbors.
If you weren't able to view the Zoning Ordinance during the open house or hear about it at one of our Advisory Board meetings, we'll include it in the next newsletter for you to peruse. It's so freshly approved that it hasn't made it online yet.
As for Alpha, as it goes, as soon as equipment started breaking up concrete, the rain started falling. I'M NOT COMPLAINING! It's a beautiful sight and shouldn't slow down construction too much.
The biggest difference between the Alpha and Charlie projects is one of logistics. Because Alpha is adjacent to aircraft hangars and a busier area of the ramp, we're developing a specific map for truck movements in and out of the construction area. Line of sight between big trucks and small planes is a concern and as soon as we have an official ingress and egress plan, you'll be the first to know.
Zachary (the contractor for the project) will be placing reflective tabs on the ramp for the vehicle lanes so they're easy to spot for everyone and to make sure no one ties down in those areas. We appreciate your assistance with this effort.
Hope you all have a fantastic November and get your fill of food, football, and family on the 23rd!
Safe Flying,
Cassidy Berenato
