Happy 2019 from San Marcos Regional Airport!

Looking back through our monthly newsletters, I'm reminded of all the exciting things that happened in 2018. While you're always welcome to read any of our past newsletters on the airport website, we're working to put together a comprehensive year-end recap, so keep an eye on your inbox.

In our December newsletter, we announced the upcoming airshow and concert event called Cory Morrow's Go Wheels Up! Texas. So far, the response has been one of overwhelming excitement and enthusiasm for an event that we think is long overdue for our beloved airport.

Planning and coordination are in full swing. Each week brings multiple meetings between the promoters, airport management, and important stakeholders like emergency services, airport tenants, and TxDOT Aviation/FAA. As you can imagine, choreographing a three-day event with an anticipated attendance of 30,000 can be tricky but throw in an active airport, and things really get fun!

It goes without saying that from an airport management perspective, safety is our number one priority and Wheels Up has been proactive in making sure safety is weaved into every aspect of their event.

The event website is being updated frequently as airshow, concert, auto show, and food festival vendors sign on, so please be sure to check it daily. There you can also find information on volunteer and sponsorship opportunities.

As event details are finalized, we'll post updates here in our monthly newsletter and on Facebook. To hear about the event in-person, stop by our next Airport Advisory Board meeting (March 11 at 10am at the Airport Management office).

In the meantime, please reach out to us if you have any questions or concerns. And don't forget to mark your calendars for May 3-5, 2019!

Happy flying,
Cassidy Berenato
Director of Marketing and Business Development
