Dear Sanborn Families & Friends,

We are thrilled to share that the capital improvement plan budget for the Sanborn playground was approved at Town Meeting this week! Even more exciting—thanks to your incredible generosity and support—we have surpassed our original $50,000 fundraising goal, raising $70,000 (and still counting!) for the playground.

This is a true reflection of what our community can accomplish together, and we are so grateful to each and every one of you who donated, volunteered, attended events, and helped spread the word. THANK YOU for showing up in such a big way for our kids.



Because of your support, Phase 1 of the playground project is moving forward and is projected to break ground this fall. Phase 1 of the project is focused on the lower part of the playground and will include:

• Brand new playground structures designed for a range of ages and abilities
• Grading and drainage of the lower field
• New & expanded swing area
• New pergola area
• New nature area
• Improved layout and accessibility features
• New basketball hoops (added thanks to your generous donations!)

Reaching this milestone was a true feat, but exceeding it means we’re able to enhance the space even further for our students and the broader community to enjoy. We’re excited to share that we’ve ordered new playground equipment (including soccer balls, basketballs, footballs, and more) that students will be able to enjoy as early as next week. We are also working with the town to explore additional elements that may be incorporated into Phase 1 through our continued fundraising efforts.

We’ll continue to keep you updated as construction progresses, but for now, please know how much your support means. This playground is truly being built by and for this community.
