Sanctuary Kitchen Cooks are Back at the Market!  Once again Sanctuary Kitchen refugee cooks from CitySeed's Kitchen Incubator Program will provide a cooking demonstration and offer samples of food products they are developing for their business.  This Saturday , Syrian cooks Rawan and Aminah will be demonstrating Mutabal (eggplant dip) at 10:30 a.m.and Ful Mudammas (a fava bean dish) at 11:30 a.m. W e are so happy to be able to showcase their products at the market!

Small Kitchen Big Taste Cooking Demo - -Join us at the LAST Winter Indoor Market (March 31st) for this simple and fun cooking demo by one of your favorite market vendors!!!

Karen Lenahan, Owner & Chef of  Small Kitchen Big Taste  will be demonstrating two different winter/early spring salads! This demo will teach participants straightforward recipes using what is fresh and seasonal!

Would you like to support refugees & immigrants while expanding the variety of foods available in our community?

Help us make dreams come true! Sanctuary Kitchen needs your help to successfully launch "Sanctuary Kitchen Catering" in Spring 2018. This new program will offer our refugee and immigrant chefs fair employment as caterers in a supportive and flexible environment, with culinary training and professional development. Additionally, it will bring unique and authentic, multicultural foods and support cultural integration of refugees and immigrants in the Greater New Haven area.  We hope to raise $1500 for essentials to begin our catering business, please help us to reach our goal!

Rock to Rock Announcement!


We are so excited for the 10th Annual  Rock to Rock Earth Day Ride! 


What is Rock-to-Rock?

Rock to Rock is an Earth Day bike ride and celebration and  the MOST FUN way to support CitySeed and 20+ other local non-profits' efforts in creating a greener, healthier community for everyone!

Anyone, rider or not, can  join our team  and all the funds you raise go toward our team's goal.  This year we're riding to support CitySeed's SNAP Double Value Program -- which allows New Haven's low-income residents to double their SNAP benefits when they purchase fresh fruits and vegetables at any of our Farmers Markets.  This is is one of the key ways that CitySeed helps ensure that all New Haven residents have access to Connecticut grown fruits and vegetables! 

A few ways to get involved in Rock to Rock before  April 28th:
  • Bike Arts Workshops led by local artist Emilio Herrera, March 28 and March 31.  This year Rock to Rock features a family-friendly 5 mile Bike Parade -- show your support for environmental work by creating an awesome bike float to go down in New Haven history!  Learn how - more info and tickets here.
  • Rock to Rock Day of Service on April 7th.  

This year, Rock to Rock is featuring a 5-mile Bike Parade, starting near West Rock and ending in East Rock park. The Parade is family friendly and open to all. Come show your support for environmental work going on in New Haven by registering to ride in the Parade route and creating a bike float to go down in New Haven history!

Bike Arts Workshop (March 28th and 31st):

To make this Parade SPECTACULAR, we are working with artist Emilio Herrera (an artist with a big local presence! See Dia de los Muertos Parade floats, the Strong School mural, and photos below) to run 2 hands-on Bike Arts Workshops to teach you and your team members how to make a bike parade float.
