God is love. But what is love? Love is a feeling of compassion, yes, and love is also an action of care. Love is both a noun and a verb. This week, let us think about how acts of care bring us closer to God through one another.

Loving God, you know each of us deeply. Help us to understand more of your wonderful world by growing hearts of love and generous care. In Jesus’s name, Amen.

How do we celebrate Mothers' Day (or Father's Day) at church?

• Holy God, ground us in a profound understanding of the kind of love we are to have for one another, and help us to share that love with every single person we encounter, in the church and beyond.
• Your love is not limited to humanity, and nor should ours be. Inspire us to lavish the same love and care on the natural world as you do.
• Give us all the patience, kindness, generosity, and humility we need to work together across political differences for the good of God’s children throughout the world.
• Open our minds to see the ways you are present in every loving and committed relationship regardless of our own biases.
• Help all who struggle with physical, mental, or spiritual illness to know that they are deeply loved, that they might be comforted and strengthened in the healing process, especially Jack Turk and Betty Zimmerman and their families.

We are excited to share plans for the Sanctuary renewal on Sunday, May 19 after the 10:30AM service (before the Congregational Cookout). This meeting will take place in the sanctuary and will also be livestreamed HERE.

This month we will be making a special Mother's Day meal for Lazarus House this Sunday, May 12. GLC will provide the main dish of ham, as well as flowers for the Moms. However we still need your help with donating the remaining ingredients and preparing the food. Click HERE to for more info or to sign up.

Join us Sunday, May 19 on the front lawn after the 10:30AM service as we celebrate the end of the program year and the beginning of summer. There will be baseball, a bounce house, and hot dogs!

Tickets are $9/person. All sales are final. Deadline to purchase tickets is June 14

*Tickets will be available for pick up from GLC beginning Tuesday, June 27.
