Planning continues for New Clinic,
Hospital in Williston

News Release - Since signing a Letter of Intent (LOI) earlier this year with the vision to enhance health care in the Williston community and region, the City of Williston and Sanford Health have been working diligently to determine details of an agreement. When finalized later this year, the agreement will outline project timelines, operational responsibilities and financing. Read More
Babe Ruth World Series to return
to Williston in 2022

Williston Economic Development - Rob Conner, Vice President of Operations for Babe Ruth League and Larry Grondahl, Tournament Chairman, held a news conference on August 21 to discuss the 2022 14-year-old Babe Ruth World Series that will be held in Williston. The tournament is scheduled August 13-20 at Ardean Aafedt Stadium. The Williston host team will earn a spot in the 10-team competition.
Klug, Bekkedahl, Wenko interviewed by Fox News

Williston Economic Development's executive director sat down with Williston Mayor Howard Klug in an interview regarding Williston's growth over the last 10 years by Tyler Olson of Fox News. Williston was the fastest growing micro-area in the United States in the last decade, with its population nearly doubling since the 2010 Census. Commissioner Brad Bekkedahl will interview with Olson on Thursday. The story will be released sometime next week!
New 911 Center to open Fall of 2021

Williston Economic Development - Renovations are wrapping up at the new location of the Upper Missouri River Regional Dispatch Center (UMRRDC). The new public safety answering point (PSAP) will be located in the terminal building at the former Sloulin Field International Airfield. City leaders and dignitaries recently toured the facility. The building is expected to open in late October or early November.
XWA Air Show September 11 at Overland Aviation

Williston Economic Development - The Williston Basin International Airport will host its first air show on Saturday, September 11. The gates will open at 7 a.m. with a free pancake breakfast, airplane rides ($25 per person), kids activities and aircraft displays. The air show will begin at 10 a.m. There is no charge to attend the air show. Limited seating will be provided. Bring a lawn chair or blanket and enjoy the show!
Williston Square readies for Developers

Williston Herald - Williston Square begins to take shape as crews continue to carve out the infrastructure needed for the City's incoming businesses, as well as for future development projects. City Administrator David Tuan and Economic Development Director Shawn Wenko met with the Williston Herald to discuss the progress happening on the former airport property. Williston Economic Development - Congratulations to Peachy's Boutique on their ribbon cutting on August 19! Peachy’s offers plus size apparel ranging from M-3X/4X as well as fashionable jewelry, handbags, hats and more! The boutique is open Tuesday-Friday 11 a.m.-6 p.m. and 11 a.m.-5 p.m. on Saturday. The new retail store is located at 1135 Second Ave. W. in Suite 206.
Butler Machinery to open in Sidney

KUMV-TV -  A machinery company based out of Fargo will be opening its 20th location in a new territory: northeastern Montana. Butler Machinery will be taking over the B&B Rentals building south of Sidney, providing agriculture equipment to clients in eastern Montana and western North Dakota. Read More

present at 1 Million Cups September 1

Williston Economic Development - 1 Million Cups Williston will be held Wednesday, September 1 at 8:30 a.m. at Meg-A-Latte New Hope. The one-hour meeting is free and open to the public. Complimentary coffee will be provided by Meg-A-Latte! Learn from two experienced entrepreneurs; Megan Wold from Meg-A-Latte and Haley Bennett from Coyote Pups Learning Den. The small business owners will talk about how they started and grew their endeavors in Williston.
WiL Expo to return to Williston November 19

News Release - The Williston Area Chamber of Commerce is excited to bring back the Women in Leadership Expo on November 19 at TrainND Northwest in Williston! The WiL Expo will feature keynote speaker, Danita Bye, a North Dakota native and best-selling author of “Millennials Matter,” as well as speakers on Diversity Equity and Inclusion, Communication, Healthy Workplaces, and technical skills and training. Registration will open on September 15.
