Time and Resolve

I am amused by all the news about making New Year’s resolutions. The stories inevitably default to discussions about of how hard it is to follow through on the intentions, as if there is going to be some punishment for failure. Why is there some imagined magic about deciding to do something at the beginning of a solar year?

Why not make an aspiration weekly, daily, or right now? I love the aspiration prayers in our Vajrayana practices. They seem to cover all the bases without limitation. We make aspirations every time we practice, and we practice all the time.

Bless my mind to turn toward the dharma

Bless my dharma practice to follow the path

Bless my path to be free of delusion.

Bless me that all delusion be transformed into wisdom.

Much Love,

🙏🏼🌎❤️ Michael

We experience joy in forming the intention to be generous.

We experience joy in the actual act of giving something.

And we experience joy in remembering the fact that we have given."
