This weekend in Occoquan our HolidayFest celebration continues with Santa, Gingerbread Houses, the Holiday Artisan Market, and more! Start by joining us on Saturday, December 4 at 10:30 a.m. on the Town Dock adjacent to Mamie Davis Park where Santa will arrive by boat. We invite children of all ages to escort Santa to River Mill Park where he will visit with families from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday.
While visiting River Mill Park you'll be able to vote on the entries on display from our Third Annual Gingerbread Contest. There is still time, of course, to enter the contest yourself. Just go to the Town website on the contest at https://www.occoquanva.gov/2021/11/08/gingerbread-house-contest/, review the categories and rules, and bring your entry to River Mill Park between 9:00 and 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 4. Then stay and enjoy our first Holiday Artisan Market in River Mill Park, featuring a variety of artisans with holiday wares, as well as fire pits, hot chocolate, and s'mores. The market will run from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 4 and 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 5. There will be a free shuttle service from the commuter lot at the intersection of Old Bridge Road and Route 123 until an hour after closing each day of the market. Roads and parking in Town will remain open -- and don't forget, with your purchases in participating Town restaurants and shops you can enter the Shop, Dine & Win Contest that concludes December 12. Last, but not least, of course, letters to Santa will continue to be accepted at the boxes at Town Hall and at Hitchcock Paper until December 24.
There's a lot going on in Occoquan's historic district this weekend and we hope you can find time to enjoy some of it with us!
