UPDATE FROM SUPERINTENDENT ALMENDAREZ TO COMMUNITY REGARDING CORONAVIRUS
Superintendent Jerry Almendarez today issued an update to the Santa Ana Unified School District (SAUSD) community about the Coronavirus, reassuring students, families, and staff that there are no cases in SAUSD and that the district has measures in place to protect students. BOARD HONORS CERTIFICATED EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH, JENNY HAZEN
The SAUSD Board of Education this week recognized the District’s Certificated Employee of the Month for February 2020, Jenny Hazen. Hazen is teacher at King Elementary School. To read more about her, click here . 
BOARD HONORS CLASSIFIED EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH, EFRAIN PE ÑALOZA JR.
The SAUSD Board of Education this week recognized the District’s Classified Employee of the Month for February 2020, Efrain Peñaloza Jr. Peñaloza is an Autism Paraprofessional at Madison Elementary School. To read more about him, click here .

SAUSD Board of Education Vice President Valerie Amezcua, along with Superintendent Jerry Almendarez and members of his Cabinet, made surprise visits to the district’s 2020 Educators of the Year and Classified School Employees of the Year this week. Congratulations to all!
Monica Andrade, a Counselor at Century High School, is the High School Support Services Educator of the Year.
Sandra Torres, Office Manager at Madison Elementary School, is a Classified Employee of the Year.
Gloria Maldonado, a Teacher at Chavez High School, is the High School Teacher of the Year.
The district's Elementary Teacher of the Year is Laura Gomez, a Teacher at Martin Elementary School.
Kathy Woolard, a Student Support Provider at Adams Elementary School, is a Classified Employee of the Year.
Leo Aguilar, a Plant Custodian at Godinez Fundamental High School, is a Classified Employee of the Year.
Winona O’Campo, a Nutrition Services Lead at Diamond Elementary School, is a Classified Employee of the Year.
Jennifer Taylor, a Teacher on Special Assignment at Monte Vista Elementary School, is the Elementary Support Services Educator of the Year.
The Intermediate Teacher of the Year is Teresa Garcia, a Teacher at Mendez Fundamental Intermediate School .
Denise Bailon, Site Coordinator, Engage 360 at Hoover Elementary School is a Classified Employee of the Year.
The district's Intermediate Support Services Educator of the Year is Khan Vu, a Speech Language Pathologist at Sierra Preparatory Academy.
