GREGORY MAGNUSON SERVING AS INTERIM DEPUTY SUPERINTENDENT OF ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES |
Gregory Magnuson has joined SAUSD as the interim deputy superintendent of administrative services, bringing with him more than three decades of professional experience leading and supporting public education agencies and non-profit organizations. He most recently served as the interim superintendent/chief executive officer of the Huntington Beach City School District in 2020, after retiring from the position of superintendent at the Buena Park School District. SAVE THE DATE: SAUSD COLLEGE NIGHT SCHEDULED FOR OCT. 6, 2021 |
Save the date: SAUSD’s College Night, hosted by Segerstrom High School, is coming up on Oct. 6. The virtual event will begin at 4 p.m. with college knowledge webinars. The college fair will begin at 6 p.m. Information: bit.ly/SAUSDCollegeNight.

SANTA ANA PUBLIC SCHOOLS FOUNDATION OFFERING SPARK GRANTS |
The Santa Ana Public Schools Foundation is offering Spark grants to provide up to $1,500 to educators for projects that do not have an available funding source. The proposed project must advance student learning in the classroom, support students’ attainment of their educational goals, and integrate into existing curriculum, instructional methodology, or educational programs. The deadline to apply is Oct. 11, 2021. Click here for more information.

The District hosted its 2021 Wall of Fame Induction ceremony on Sept. 20, 2021 at the Santa Ana Public Sports Complex. The former SAUSD student athletes gathered along with staff members, family and friends to celebrate their athletic and coaching achievements on and off the field. SAUSD'S JOSEPH TAGALOA NAMED LA CHARGERS' ORANGE COUNTY FOOTBALL COACH OF THE WEEK |
Segerstrom head football coach Joseph Tagaloa was recently named the Los Angeles Chargers Orange County Coach of the Week. He joined the Segerstrom football program for its first season in 2006 and has been the head coach since 2016. Tagaloa, an SAUSD alumnus, played football at Saddleback High School.
