Nearly 50 Santa Ana Unified School District (SAUSD) campuses are being honored at the state level for their efforts to implement Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) during the 2021-22 school year. Forty-eight SAUSD schools received notification recently that they are receiving silver, gold, or platinum awards from the California PBIS Coalition in acknowledgment of implementing PBIS with fidelity to the national framework. The Board of Education held a Special Board Meeting and a School Budget Town Hall on Aug, 29, 2022 to share with the community how the District is funding various initiatives that help meet the academic needs and well-being of our students. The Board of Education last week passed a resolution proclamation September 2022 as “Attendance Awareness Month.” The resolution sets forth the importance of good attendance and the creation of a positive attendance-going culture across the District. The District also commits to focusing on reducing chronic absenteeism to give all children an equitable opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive academically, emotionally, and socially.
