SAUSD HOLDS 2022 TOP SENIORS ACHIEVEMENT RECOGNITION CEREMONY
SAUSD recognized the Top Seniors in the District in a ceremony May 19, 2022 at Guaranty Chevrolet. Scholars were cheered on by family and friends, plus District and community leaders. Honorees will go on to attend USC, UCLA, Notre Dame, Harvard, Stanford and other colleges and universities in the fall. Click here to view the event program and a list of honorees.
SAUSD HOLDS SPECIAL EDUCATION/SELPA COMMUNITY RESOURCE FAIR
The District held a Special Education/SELPA Community Resource Fair May 17, 2022 at Saddleback High School. Nearly 200 participants signed up to attend the event, which featured dozens of resource booths, entertainment and a special drawing. Click here for photos. 
SAUSD HOLDS 2022 K-8 AND INTERMEDIATE SCHOOLS TRACK AND FIELD MEET
Student athletes from 13 schools competed in the 2022 K-8 and Intermediate Schools Track and Field Meet on May 21, 2022 at the Santa Ana Public Schools Sports Complex. Scholars were cheered on by family, friends and staff from the stands. Click here for a list of winners. Congratulations to all participants!
STUDENTS FROM SIX SAUSD INTERMEDIATE SCHOOLS PARTICIPATE IN 2022 APPJAMBOREE SHOWCASE
Students from six SAUSD intermediate schools came together May 18, 2022 to highlight the mobile game applications they recently created through the AppJam+ program. For 10 weeks, Engage 360 students from these schools worked with Dreams for Schools and mentors from UC Irvine to learn how to code their own game apps. They spoke about these apps to family, friends, teachers and industry professionals during the Showcase. Click here to read more. 
VIDEO: NEARLY 140 SCHOLARS PARTICIPATE IN 2022 SAUSD ROBOTICS INVITATIONAL
Nearly 140 scholars from across the District competed May 14, 2022 in the SAUSD Robotics Invitational at Lathrop Intermediate School. Students from four high schools and eight intermediate schools engaged in competition, while elementary school students participated in a fifth grade showcase. SAUSD TO LAUNCH COMPREHENSIVE SUMMER PROGRAM FOR 2022
SAUSD will launch a comprehensive Summer Program that will include enrichment, personalized learning camps, academic support, visual and performing arts, and other programs and services for students in all grade levels. Click here to view a preliminary schedule.

ADRIANA HUEZO NAMED HIGH SCHOOL COUNSELOR OF THE YEAR BY SIMON SCHOLARS
Congratulations to Adriana Huezo, Higher Education Coordinator at Segerstrom High School, who has been named Counselor of the Year by the Simon Scholars scholarship program! Huezo was honored during a recent surprise ceremony at the school. Click here for photos. 
LOWELL ELEMENTARY HOSTS INDUSTRY PROFESSIONALS DURING COLLEGE & CAREER WEEK PANEL
Lowell Elementary scholars spent a recent morning learning about various career paths during the school’s College & Career Week panel. Panelists - including Superintendent Jerry Almendarez - spoke to the students about the training and education they needed to embark on their careers, which ranged from firefighter, to social worker, to TV news reporter and more.
