Hello and welcome to my monthly newsletter!
It has been a busy first quarter for your D4 team. In terms of specific updates this month, be sure to click on the Policy and Community Updates.
HIGHLIGHTS OF NOTE: In March, I took the first step toward building a system of universal child care in Santa Clara County by directing administrative staff to create a plan that will provide child care to County employees beginning in the new fiscal year through a combination of onsite services, subsidies and emergency care options.
With nearly 20,000 employees, Santa Clara County is the third largest employer in Silicon Valley - behind only Apple and Google – so not only will this impact a great number of our local workforce but should also serve as an example to other employers of how this can be done.

My office also worked in partnership with our County'sOffice of LGBTQ Affairs last month tohonor our transgender community at a Trans Day of Visibility Flag Raising Ceremony on March 26 and a full day of programming on March 30.
Finally, I'll be at the Santa Clara Farmers' Market this month to chat about the things that matter most to your community.
