The Santa Clara City Cemetery cleanup will take place from Monday, May 4 through Friday, May 8, 2026. All flowers and decorations must be removed before May 4. Any items remaining after this date will be removed and disposed of during cleanup, except those at new burial sites. Decorations may be returned beginning Friday, May 8. The City conducts three regular cemetery cleanups each year on the first Monday of February, May, and November to help maintain the cemetery as a beautiful and respectful place of remembrance. The Santa Clara City Council will hold a Public Hearing at 6:00 PM on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, in the City Council Chambers, 2603 Santa Clara Drive, Santa Clara, Utah 84765.

The purpose of the Public Hearing is to receive public input regarding the FY2026-2027 Tentative Budget.

Citizens of Santa Clara are encouraged to attend the meeting where they will be given the opportunity to express any concerns they may have with the proposed action.

On July 4, 2026, Santa Clara will join the rest of the nation to commemorate and celebrate the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Throughout 2026, Santa Clara will host monthly lectures and activities to celebrate this historic event. These events are planned to help Educate, Engage and Unite our community, state and nation. The America 250 theme for May is the Civil War. The lecture, “The Political Genius of Abraham Lincoln” will be held Wednesday, May 6th, and will be delivered by Vince Brown, Instructor and Director of the Utah Tech Institute of Politics. Learn about President Lincoln’s “Team of Rivals” that he created within his own cabinet.

Along with his lecture, several “Underground Railroad” quilts will be on display. The quilts contain coded messages embedded in quilt patterns, used by enslaved people in the 19th century to navigate secret routes to freedom. The quilts will be displayed at the Town Hall all day from 10:00 am - 7:00 pm.

The City of Santa Clara has been honored with the Reliable Public Power Provider (RP3)® designation from the American Public Power Association, recognizing our commitment to operating an efficient, safe, and reliable electric distribution system for our community today and into the future.



The RP3 designation is awarded to public power utilities that demonstrate excellence in four key areas: reliability, safety, workforce development, and system improvement. Valid for three years, the RP3 designation places Santa Clara among more than 250 public power utilities nationwide that have earned this distinction.

If you are age 55 or older, the Foster Grandparent Program offers a rewarding way to give back to your community. Volunteers serve in local schools, helping children build confidence and succeed in reading and math while forming meaningful connections. Keeping our community safe is a shared responsibility and knowing how and when to report a

crime can make all the difference. The Santa Clara-Ivins Police Department (SCIPD) is committed to

assisting residents, responding to incidents, and investigating criminal activity. Don’t wait until you

have all the answers. If something feels off, report what you saw or heard. Even small or incomplete

details can help law enforcement piece together the bigger picture. You don’t need proof, just share

what you know.

Reporting a Crime

If you are a victim of a crime or have information that could assist law enforcement, SCIPD

encourages you to reach out at any time, day or night, including weekends. Officers are available to

take reports either in person or over the phone.

When to Call 9-1-1

In emergencies, always dial 9-1-1. This should be used when there is immediate danger to people or

property, a crime is actively occurring, or a suspect is still on the scene.

Non-Emergency Situations

For incidents that are not in progress and do not pose immediate danger, residents can contact nonemergency dispatch at 435-634-5730.

Reporting in Person

Residents may also file a report in person at the SCIPD office, located at 55 N. Main St. in Ivins.

Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, 435-652-1122.

Reporting by Phone

If you choose to report a crime by phone, an officer will return your call after dispatch gathers your

information.

What Happens Next?

After a report is filed, an officer will investigate and document the incident. Depending on the

complexity of the case, this process may take time. Once finalized, individuals involved can request

a copy of the report through the City of Ivins website (ivinsutah.gov) by submitting a GRAMA

request under the Public Safety Department section. Please note that processing these requests

may take up to 10 business days and fees may apply.



Staying informed about how to report crimes helps strengthen communication between the

community and law enforcement. If you see something, say something; your information could

make a meaningful difference.

Santa Clara – Ivins Fire Chief Cazier recently shared important information on how the fire department has evolved to better serve our community.

Prior to 2022, fire protection relied on volunteer firefighters who responded from home or work, first traveling to the station before heading to an emergency. This process could take 15 to 20 minutes before help was even on the way. Today, full-time professional firefighters are staffed around the clock and ready to respond immediately. In fact, current response times are now shorter than it once took just to reach the fire engine.

The impact of this transition has been significant. In the past, fires could quickly spread beyond a single room and result in the loss of entire homes. Since moving to full-time staffing, the department has not lost a single house to total fire damage. Faster response times have also improved outcomes in medical emergencies, where every second truly matters.

Maintaining this high level of service requires ongoing investment in equipment, training, and staffing. It is a service the community depends on, and one the department is committed to keeping strong.
